Engaged!!

Okay I am FINALLY getting a little bit of time to post about the engagement on here.  First off, you should all know that Brady and I have been planning this wedding and had a date set for a little over a month before we got engaged, so where as everyone things we are totally crazy, we are only kind of crazy :)

We had the temple date set, reception place set, videographer, photographer, engagement pictures done, got the dress and suit, and a few other things.  So we were pretty far along with things.

Okay so here is how it happened:
I asked Brady if we had any plans for the evening and he said no.  Hmmph  that was the worst because I knew we wouldn't be getting engaged that night since he didn't have anything planned.  That sneaky guy.  So we decided to go to dinner and talk about what we wanted to do.  After we ordered, Brady looked outside and said something like "Oh!  We should go drive the Nebo Loop since we both are tired. But we should probably go now and get our food to go because the sun will go down in about an hour."  **Side note, the first day we kissed was the day we last we went to the Nebo Loop, so kind of significant!** Okay, now back to the story.  The first thing that came to my mind was ENGAGEMENT!  So my eyes flashed to his pockets to see if I could see a little ring box bump, but nothing was there.  I didn't even think that it could be in the car waiting or anything.  And that was it, out of my mind after that.  Geez am I a little slow or what?  I blame it on being tired.  So, we get our food and head on our way.  I knew that our wedding date was quickly approaching and we needed to have the invites out within a week and a half so we needed to announce that we were getting married so we could start collecting addresses.  The whole drive up I was kind of saying little things like "So, we need to have invitations out soon." and "How long will it take to get people's addresses?  Probably over a week..." and I even said "You know sometimes people use fake rings to propose while the other ring is getting made."  yeah I am being way annoying I know, but I just wanted to be engaged and announce to the world about how happy I was!  So we get up to the look out area and grab a blanket and walk out a bit to watch the sunset.  It was beautiful.  But we sat there for a long time...and I was getting hungry.  I didn't know why he didn't want to go and eat, but looking back it all came together.  Then before anything happened, some random people showed up.  I thought that was normal because it is a look out area after all.  So I suggest we go and eat and we do.  Finally, they  leave.  But soon enough someone else comes and that same person came back!  Which was fine with me, but Brady didn't want to do anything while they were there.  After they left, I turned to him and said "Brady, I don't need a ring.  I don't want a ring!  I just want to be engaged to you.  You can even use this paper straw wrapper as a ring and I would be so happy!" (he had tied that straw wrapper around my wrist earlier at the restaurant).  He looked at me and said "Really?  You would really be happy with this?"  And of course I said "Yes!" so he took it off my bracelet that he made and tied it around my finger.  I looked up at him and he had a different look in his eye and it hit me!   I even said something like "Oh!  This is for real?!" and he looked at me with his gorgeous, sweet eyes and reached in his pocket and said "Well how about I switch it out for the real thing?"  Instant crying happened and I couldn't even look at the ring!  He started saying the most wonderful, genuine and sweetest things to me.  I just kept thinking how lucky I am to have him and how unreal this was.  I finally got a yes out and we hugged, kissed, and of course, danced to Frank Sinatra.  It was beautiful.  And oh, so perfect.  I couldn't have asked for anything better.  I couldn't have asked for anyone better than him.  He is amazing.  Brady is the most genuine, selfless person that I have met in my whole life.  He is such a good person and a good example, that he makes me better too.  I am so excited to be married and sealed to this boy for time and all eternity this month!  Ahh this month!  So crazy.  But so wonderful.  I love him to the moon and back.  And again and again, and again and again.

August 28th people!!!  Keep it on your calendars.  Sorry no pictures, Brady has one and I will get it from him so I can post it.

Bake Lovely

So I have been toying with the idea of starting a business to sell cupcakes for quite some time now, but with some encouragement from Brady, family and co-workers, I decided to go through with it.  Brady has been putting a lot of time and effort into this website and I think it is gorgeous!  So if any of you have any parties, showers or events coming up give me a call!  Or refer to a friend :)  Thanks friends!!

Pinterest Experiment

Okay so my beautiful co-worker Melissa shows up to work in this adorable outfit.

Sarah, another co-worker, and I commented on how much we loved it and made comments to the effect that she could be on Pinterest.  So we had a brilliant idea to take a picture, post it on my blog, then pin it and see how far we can get it to go!  So feel free to pin :)

Inspire me? I couldn't have been more right on naming this blog...

WOW!  I cannot get myself to blog.  Ever.  Brady tries to help me with motivation, but I have none!  What should I blog about?  He gives me plenty of ideas, but I am lacking some serious motivation.  So maybe one day some inspiration will come to me and I will start blogging.  Until then, you probably won't be hearing from me much.

Okay I promise to work on it.

Cupcake Class

For my Valentines Day gift, Brady found a lady who taught cake classes and convinced her to do a cupcake class.  It took her a while to set it up, but because Brady is so wonderfully persistent, we finally had our cupcake class last weekend!

We went to the Provo Bakery where she held the class and it was so much fun!  There were probably 10 people in the class and we learned different techniques for filling cupcakes, frosting cupcakes, using ganache as well as those cute chocolate garnishes you see on top.  We had a blast!!  Okay I added in the pictures and they are tiny!  I would make them bigger, but the pictures are blurry.  I debated on taking them off, but its okay, hopefully you guys can see our masterpieces!!

All Things Valentines

Oh Valentines Day.  What a day.  For Brady and I it started 2 days early.  We decided to make sugar cookies on Sunday, print off these awesome Harry Potter Valentines that we found on a blog (http://yenniper.blogspot.com/) and then deliver them to some of our friends.

                                                                        About to deliver

                                                                The final product
Sugar cookie recipe and icing recipe to come!  They were divine.

Okay so that was Sunday and Monday.  Finally, Tuesday, Valentines Day!  Brady and I went to Macaroni Grill in Salt Lake for dinner (Thank you Pinnacle Security for my Christmas present and providing us a delicious meal.   For free!) And after dinner the surprise came....LADY ANTEBELLUM!!  Brady and I went to Lady Antebellum at the Energy Solutions Arena.  Thompson Square and Darius Rucker opened for them.  It was PHENOMENAL!
                                                                  Waiting for Lady A!

It took a while, so anyone who knows Brady and I, of course mustaches came out...

They asked everyone to get out their phones, it was really cool to see the whole arena with them out
Ahhhh.  What a great day.  BUT.  I am not done.  Even though Valentines day is over, I get into work this afternoon and have a valentine sitting on my desk.  On Tuesdays I leave early so I missed when they handed them out.  Great joy came of this....
My bosses son, Romeo.  How adorable?  If you can't read it from the glare it says "I 'mustache' you a question...will you be my valentine?  Gracias, Romeo.
Ahh I just love this little guy.
